What Is A Mediterranean Keto Diet?

A Mediterranean keto diet is when the two different diets come together and form one. The macronutrients followed for this diet takes bits and pieces from both and forms percentages that have a healthy effect on the body. 

First, carbs are restricted to a level where the body can reach the ketosis level. Therefore, the amount of carbs in this diet is kept to a low of 20g to 25g. In this case, the rule of the keto diet is followed where whatever carbs you consume from eating products mainly for fats and proteins should be it. There is no addition of extra carbs. 

The fats for this diet include most of the ones that fall under the Mediterranean diet. Hence, the fats are sources from olive oil, avocado, nuts, seeds, and hard cheese. 

Finally, the protein is sourced from fish, eggs, and seafood instead of red meat. One of the reasons why this is actually helpful is because fishes come with omega 3 which is a helpful compound for a healthy body. 

Vegetables are an extremely important part of the diet. It is recommended that you eat plenty of green leafy and cruciferous vegetables. These help with the fibers that your body needs. Furthermore, green food comes with the essential vitamins and minerals that the body needs.
