The Beginner’s Guide To Protein Pills

When we think about protein, then what we need to know first is that protein pills, protein powder, or any form helps us reach our daily protein intake. However, in this case what we will focus on are the pills.

What Are Protein Pills?

These pills are dietary supplements that come in the form of a capsule or a pill. They are easily available at online retailers, drugstores, and even food stores.

Manufacturers use several types of products to make these pills. Some of them are collagen, whey, soy, broth, or even bone. There are pills that might even contain pea powder, beef, or casein.

However, if you’re lactose intolerant, then it is strongly advised that you step away from whey protein pills. This is because whey is a byproduct that comes out when making cheese. On top of that, if you’re vegan or vegetarian then the beef or bone broth tablets are out of your options as well.

These tablets do not have any calories as opposed to protein powders. On top of that, the tablets do not have any taste either. In fact, even a picky eater will not have to worry when consuming protein tablets.

However, the content of the protein is much less compared to that of powders. These tablets contain only 3g of protein per six tablets.

Of course, these whey protein tablets are handy for carrying. Due to their size, one can travel with them at ease. These pills do not require any sort of refrigeration or even any sort of preparation work.

Finally, these pills have never been subjected to being health risk items. Nevertheless, there are theories that these pills pose to have long term health risk. The primary reason why this was the notion is because protein powders themselves had shown detectable lead, cadcium, and even BPA.

Fortunately, protein tablets have not never shown signs of any of these elements.

Does Protein Promote Weight Loss?

Protein pills help with hitting the protein levels. In fact, with these pills you’re practically consuming zero calories. Hence, while you’re consuming proteins, it’s still helping with weight loss given the intensity of strength training.

On the other hand, whey protein pills offer all the advantages and nutritional values of protein powders, bars, and shakes. This fact by itself makes these pills an attractive alternative. They help with hitting protein levels without even having to alter anything from the diet.

How To Effectively Use Protein Tablets?

The only time that whey protein tablets will effectively work is if you’re combining these tablets with a proper diet. These pills do not actually replace an entire meal.

The pills will supply you with the essential amino acids as required. You’ll be able to help yourself with protein synthesis, weight loss, muscle mass, and others. Unfortunately, this will not be possible just by itself.

The optimum results will arrive when you have them at least 2 hours prior to your workout. This time provides your body with enough time to utilize the protein that the pills have to offer. By the time the workout comes around, you’ll have sufficient energy. They provide the body with fuel that helps with the workout.

Difference Between Protein Pills and Protein Powders

There are a number of differences between the pills and the powders. However, there are two primary differences.

Protein Amount

Whey protein tablets provide around 2g to 3g protein. On the other hand, one scoop of protein powder provides you with at least 25g to 30g of protein. Even if you consider plant based protein powders, they come with at least 20g of protein per scoop.

Dosage

To even receive a sufficient amount of protein from the pills, you’ll need to take 10 pills at one serving. This is absolutely not feasible. Otherwise, you’ll have to take 2 pills every other hour. Coming to the powders, one scoop mixed with a liquid of your choice will do the trick.

Calories

You’ll be consuming much more calories with one scoop of protein powder than with 10 protein tablets. So, you’ll end up consuming more calories with protein powders than with protein tablets.

Finally..

What you need to know here is whether protein tablets are good for you or not. If it’s not helping you, then there’s no point consuming it.

However, keeping popular opinion aside, if you believe that protein pills are good for you and feasible enough, then you should give this a shot!
